Upon arrival of your cruise, the guide will be waiting for you at the port, identified with the Shore2Shore sign.
We will begin our tour departing from the Fredericia pier, crossing the New Bridge over the Little Belt towards the island of Funen. We will drive along the picturesque Strandvejen to the peaceful town of Strib, formerly a ferry stop on the route from Copenhagen to Jutland.
This charming place offers a unique view of your cruise, where our guide will share the local history while we enjoy the sea breeze and the opportunity to capture a beautiful photo of the Fredericia pier.
We will continue to the old fishing village of Middelfart, and then visit the Hindsgavl peninsula, home to a lovely deer park and the small Hindsgavl castle. From here, we will take the road back to Jutland, crossing picturesque landscapes and passing through the towns of Skærbæk and Taulov. We will make a stop at a medieval church, completely renovated in 1999.
Inside, we will admire an impressive collection of vibrant and luminous art, with 70 paintings by the artist Arne L. Hansen decorating the space. The tower, which formerly served as a navigation guide, offers spectacular views of the Kolding fjord and Skamlingsbanken.
Returning to Fredericia, we will pass by the historic Carlsberg Brewery, the fourth largest brewery in the world, which has had its headquarters in the city since 2008. This stop is an opportunity to learn more about a world-renowned brand.
Once in Fredericia, we will explore the old ramparts and the picturesque inner town, whose straight streets and traditional houses remind us of the city’s fortified era. We will visit the infantry soldier statue, erected in 1858 in memory of the private soldier who fought in the 1849 Battle of Fredericia.
Before returning to the port, we will enjoy a well-deserved break at a local café, where you can try a delicious coffee and pastries (not included). Finally, you will have the option to return to the pier by bus or, if you prefer, take a leisurely walk back to the ship at your own pace.
