The secrets of Cork
Shore excursion from port of Cobh, Ireland
- Duration 5h
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Upon arrival of your cruise at the port of Cobh, our guide will be waiting for you, identified with the Shore2Shore sign.
Panoramic tour of Cork, designated European Capital of Culture in 2005. Located in the south on Ireland’s coastal area, it is the second most populous city in the country.
Cork is built on the Lee River, which in a short stretch divides into two channels, creating an island on which the city center stands. Its architecture and customs (culture, gastronomy, etc.) distinguish it from the rest of the country.
During the city tour, we will stop at the St. Finbar’s Cathedral so you can admire its splendid and ornate façade, and we will also visit the University Campus, with its lush gardens and its iconic square plaza surrounded by 19th-century buildings.
Visit and free time for lunch.
During this time, you can stroll through lively streets such as Oliver Plunkett St and the Huguenot Quarter or experience firsthand the colorful English Market. If you still have time and energy, head to the Shandon Quarter and take a close look at the clock known as ‘the four-faced liar’ or walk along the walls of the Elizabeth Fort, dating back to the 17th century.
After the excursion, we will return to the port for boarding.
