When your cruise docks at the port of Genoa, our guide, identified by the Shore2Shore sign, will be waiting to start this unforgettable tour through the historic center of the city.

The experience begins at the Old Port, dating back to the 16th century and home to the famous Genoa Aquarium, one of the largest in Europe. From here, we will venture into the labyrinthine "Caruggi", narrow alleys full of history, where the colorful buildings will immerse us in the authentic Genoese atmosphere.

As if it were an unexpected discovery, turning a corner we will find the majestic Cathedral of San Lorenzo (exterior visit), the most important temple in the city. Its fusion of architectural styles, from the 11th to the 20th century, makes it a true work of art, enhanced by a 19th-century restoration that has highlighted its most iconic medieval elements.

Our walk continues towards the Piazza de Ferrari, the vibrant commercial, economic, and financial heart of Genoa. Here stands the imposing Bronze Fountain, the elegant Carlo Felice Opera Theater, the historic Ducal Palace, former residence of the governors of the Republic of Genoa, and the Church of Jesus (exterior visit).

From here, we will head to Dante Square, where the Casa di Colombo awaits us, considered the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, alongside the Porta Soprana, one of the ancient medieval entrances to the city.

One of the most special moments of the tour will take us to the iconic Via Garibaldi, formerly known as Strada Nuova. Flanked by majestic Renaissance palaces built over five centuries ago, this street was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006, thanks to its architectural and historical value.

To conclude this immersion in the Genoese essence, we will return to the cruise terminal strolling through the charming streets of the city, surrounded by historic buildings and enveloped in the atmosphere of art, culture, and the mystique of "Genova la Superba".
