What you'll do

Embark on a fascinating journey to the past with this excursion to Nuraghe di Palmavera and the historic walled city of Alghero, perfect for your cruise stop in Sardinia.

Upon arrival at the port, the Shore2Shore guide, easily identifiable, will welcome you to begin this unique cultural experience. We will depart from Porto Torres heading towards Capo Caccia, where we will make a photo stop to admire its stunning views.

We will continue to the ancient settlement of Nuraghe Palmavera, whose construction began around the 14th century BC. This archaeological site stands out for its two stone towers and is surrounded by the remains of more than 50 circular huts. The main tower, still with its dome shape intact, dates back to before 1100 BC.

We will explore the complex, a testament to the social and political evolution of an ancient tribal community, and learn about the emblematic Meeting Hall, where both political debates and religious rites were held.

Afterwards, we will head to the charming city of Alghero, known for its Catalan origins following its incorporation into the Crown of Aragon in the 12th century. Our walking tour of the old town includes a visit inside the Church of San Francisco, famous for its magnificent cloister.

This excursion concludes with the return to the port and a warm farewell.

Dive into the history and culture of Sardinia as you discover its oldest and most charming treasures!
