What you'll do
Upon arrival of your cruise, the guide will be waiting for you at the port, identified with the Shore2Shore sign.
Enjoy a walk through the old town of Stavanger with its beautiful wooden houses and cobblestone lanes before exploring the city. The walk begins in Gamle Stavanger, a lively area with well-preserved wooden houses built during the 18th and 19th centuries as homes for sailors, craftsmen, and merchants. After an important restoration project, it is now the largest and best-preserved wooden house settlement in Northern Europe.
The walk continues towards the market square, next to the harbor. A colorful scene made up of fruits, vegetables, and souvenirs available to visitors, where flowers and seafood are also sold. In the background, you can see the impressive Stavanger Cathedral, built in the 12th century. Looking back, we will see the statue of the former mayor and well-known writer Alexander Kielland.
The pedestrian street leads us to the Valberg Tower, located on a small hill overlooking the city center and harbor. This was used as a watchtower to prevent fires. We will also see the newer part of the city, the oil museum, the city bridge, and the famous Fargegaten, the colorful street.
At the end of the excursion, return to the port for farewell.
We hope you have enjoyed this unique experience in the heart of Norway!
