Shore excursion from port of Marmaris, Turkey
- Duration 6h
- Activity level medium
What you'll do
Upon arrival at the port of Marmaris, our Shore2Shore guide, identified by their sign, will be waiting to begin a wonderful excursion. We will head on a comfortable journey of approximately an hour and a half to Dalyan, a charming tourist town with much to discover.
From there, we will board a “kayik”, a traditional wooden boat equipped with a diesel engine. During a pleasant 40-minute navigation, we will head to Caunos, an ancient and captivating site located on the shores of Dalyan Lake.
We recommend bringing warm clothing, especially if you visit us in spring.
Once we dock at the Caunos pier, we will begin a fascinating walking tour through this historic Hellenistic settlement. We will explore the magnificent Roman Ruins and the impressive Byzantine Basilica, which offer an authentic history lesson in a unique setting.
After this cultural experience, we will return to the "kayik" to enjoy the return trip sailing back to Dalyan.
At the end of the excursion, we will head back to the port of Marmaris, where we will say goodbye, hoping this visit remains in your memory as a beautiful souvenir of your trip.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Cruise passengers who do not have their initial embarkation or final disembarkation in Turkey do not need to apply for a visa as long as they enter the country for a one-day excursion, stay in the disembarkation port, and return to sleep on the ship the same day. If your cruise starts or ends in Turkey and you arrive or depart by plane, you will need a visa.
